Statistical analysis of water quality parameters of the El Macho estuary in the city of Machala-Ecuador

Water quality is related to biological, chemical and physical parameters and the degree of concentration of these components present in the water and that, according to their level of presence, affect the consumption of water resources. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the presence of these elements in the water of Estero El Macho in the city of Machala, Ecuador through the applicability of the statistical method. The research design is correlational with the support of statistical methods, multiple linear regression and analysis of principal components present in the waters. The results showed the presence of agents such as: fecal coliforms, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, iron and dissolved oxygen outside the limits allowed for quality water, therefore, the water of the El Macho estuary does not comply the quality criteria to be able to be consumed without problems.
