Abstract

This study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the applications and methodologies of social network expert systems to identify current trends, challenges, and opportunities for improving data analysis and decision making in various sectors. The theoretical and conceptual approach is vast, complex, and difficult to understand, requiring frequent revisions. However, due to the large complexity of the literature, such reviews are “such reviews often narrow their focus to specific components that encompass expert systems in social networks. For data search, development, and selection we used the PRISMA approach which accounted for various inclusions and exclusions extracted from SCIENCE DIRECT databases with forward and backward searching of important research. The qualitative selection of results approach was used to explain the use of expert systems in social networks in an evolutionary manner. Of the 3,678 records identified, 20 studies are considered eligible on the systematically selected basis for investigation.
