The National University of Tumbes considers research to be an essential and obligatory function as stipulated by the University Law, and therefore, through the Vice-Rectorate of Research and its departments, it promotes scientific production, innovation, technological development and transfer, in such a way that it contributes to the solution of the problem to improve the quality of life in the Tumbes region, in the country and in the world. The Vice-Rectorate assumes the responsibility of planning, directing, executing and evaluating the strategic guidelines of UNTUMBES research; it also organizes the dissemination of knowledge, promotes innovation and technological transfer, and manages the funds necessary for the development of research in an efficient, responsible and quality manner. To be an organ that promotes excellence in innovation, science and technology, with social responsibility and respect for the environment. To seek the truth and contribute to social development, to promote research with a clear purpose of service.
